Information about paid premiums on sickness insurance of a self-employed person
The service will display a list of payments made for a self-employed person’s sickness insurance and the monthly bases from these payments for the selected time period.
The participation of a self-employed person in sickness insurance is voluntary. Sickness insurance, cash assistance in maternity, paternal postpartum care, and long-term nursing care are provided from the self-employed person’s sickness insurance.
The insurance premium for a self-employed person’s sickness insurance is determined from a monthly base at a percentage rate of 2.1%. The monthly basis cannot be lower than twice the amount decisive for the employee's participation in the sickness insurance (in 2023, the minimum monthly base is 8000 CZK).
The monthly base cannot be higher than the monthly average from the determined assessment base on the last submitted statement of income and expenses. Reports older than three years are not considered. If the activity began in the calendar year and lasted less than four months, the maximum monthly base is ½ of the average wage. More at www.cssz.cz/web/lang.
The insurance premium for sickness insurance is due from the first day to the last day of the calendar month for which the insurance premium is paid. In the month of registration for the sickness insurance, the insurance premium is payable until the end of the following calendar month. The day of payment is considered the day the payment is credited to the account of the relevant social security administration.
You may find more information about the participation of the self-employed persons in sickness insurance and the benefits of the self-employed person’s sickness insurance on the website of CSSA.
