Employee Registration

This service allows employers to:

  • register employees in the Employee Register,
  • report changes to their data; and
  • deregister employees upon termination of their employment.

Employee Register as of 1 April 2026

When must an employee be registered?

An employer must register an employee:

  1. within 8 days of the date on which:
    1. the employee commences employment;
    2. the employer becomes obliged to provide benefits to the employee, if the employment commencement date under point 1 cannot be used; or
    3. the employer first provides benefits to the employee, if the date under point 1 or 2 cannot be used;
  2. on the date on which the employer submits the employee’s application for a sickness benefit to the Regional Social Security Administration (RSSA), if the employee applies for it before being registered in the Employee Register further to point a); or
  3. by the time the employee commences employment, if the employee is a foreign national.

When must changes to employee data be reported?

All changes to registered data must be reported within 8 days of the date on which the employer becomes aware of any such change.

When must an employee be deregistered?

An employee must be deregistered within 8 days:

  1. of the termination of employment; or
  2. of the date on which the obligation to provide benefits to the employee ceases, if the date under point (a) cannot be used; or
  3. of the date on which the employer stops providing benefits to the employee, if the date under point (a) or (b) cannot be used.
