Overview of the informative personal record of pension insurance

The service displays the most recently completed informative personal record of pension insurance, the so-called informative record. The informative record contains an overview of the periods of pension insurance (employment), or assimilated periods of insurance, stored in the records of CSSA, and for the period since 1986 it also contains an overview of the assessment bases and excluded periods.

If you have not yet requested the compilation of an informative personal record of pension insurance or you have an informative record issued more than 1 year ago, you can use the online service Online application for Informative Personal Record of Pension Insurance.

You have the right to process an informative record once per calendar year.

  1. Information on the period of insurance of a self-employed person is usually sent to the central register of CSSA by the end of the calendar year following the calendar year in which the self-employed person participated in the pension insurance and for which they paid the insurance premium.
  2. The period of employment before 1 January 1993, if the insured person had a permanent residence in Slovakia as of 31 December 1992, is registered by the Social Insurance Company, headquarters in Bratislava. CSSA will only request data from this record during pension proceedings, when it will be decided whether periods of employment before 1 January 1993 are considered periods of Czech or Slovak state security (Article 20 of the Agreement between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic on Social Security No. 228/1993 Coll.).
  3. A missing insurance period is not investigated for the purposes of the informative record.
  4. You can find more about the informative personal record of pension insurance in the document entitled Explanation of the Informative Personal Record of Pension Insurance.

Is the period of employment missing?

The basic document proving the period of pension insurance (employment) is the pension insurance record (hereinafter referred to as ELDP). If you determine that you are not in the register of CSSA, it is easiest to contact the DSSA at your place of permanent residence.

In the case that

  • the employer exists, DSSA will ask it to fulfil its legal obligation. You can also contact your employer and ask it to send the ELDP to the records yourself;
  • the employer does not exist or cannot be contacted, DSSA will take over the documents that you have at your disposal (or obtain copies) from you and begin an investigation, even if the employer has or had its registered office in another district.

Is the period of employment until the end of 1985 missing?

This can be easily documented

  • by a labour contract and proof of termination of employment or
  • by confirmation of employment (employment record).

However, it can also be documented by

  • pay slips,
  • payrolls,
  • attendance records or other documents proving the period of your employment (e.g., ROH ID card).

Is the period of employment from 1986 to the end of 1995 missing?

In this case, in addition to the documents proving the period of employment (see above), it is necessary to provide

  • payrolls or pay slips, i.e., documents proving the amount of gross income (assessment base),
  • the period of insurance from 1993 can also be demonstrated by confirmation from your health insurance company.

However, if you do not have proof of income, do not despair. In the case that your earnings cannot be verified even by the DSSA you contact in relation to the documentation of the period of insurance, when calculating your pension, the period of insurance for which the earnings could not be documented will be evaluated as an excluded period, so that it does not reduce your average income, which is the basis for determining the amount of the pension.

Is the period from 1996 missing?

In order to prove the period of employment, it is necessary to document not only the beginning and end of employment, but also the performance of the employment itself or the possible existence of temporary incapacity for work, i.e., by

  • labour contracts and proof of termination of employment,
  • confirmation of employment (employment record),
  • payrolls, pay slips, account statements with the name of the employer and the purpose of the received payment (salary), attendance records,
  • confirmation from the attending physician about the duration of temporary incapacity for work (this applies to incapacity lasting until 31 December 2008 or until 31 December 2009, when the employer was the payer of the sickness benefit).

Separate submission of a labour contract and a document on the termination of employment or a certificate of employment for the reconstruction of the ELDP for the period from 1 January 1996 is not sufficient, because these documents do not in themselves prove that the conditions for participation in pension insurance have been met.

Is the period from 2004 missing?

You may proceed in the same way as in the case of documenting the period from 1996. Another document for evaluating the period of insurance may be a copy of the ELDP signed by an authorised person of the employer and bearing its stamp.

Was it not possible to provide the Social Security Administration with an ELDP or documents for its reconstruction, but you know at least two of your former colleagues?

It is possible to use a statutory declaration and the statutory declarations of another two colleagues to prove the period of insurance. The Statutory Declaration of the Period of Employment form is available on the ePortal of CSSA at eportal.cssz.cz in the Forms section for insured persons. Any DSSA will help you complete it.

Is the period of service in the armed forces missing?

The period of service in the armed forces is recorded by the relevant social security authority of the Ministry of the Interior, Defence, or Justice. Documents between CSSA and other social security authorities are only transferred in relation to a request for the award of a pension.

Is the period of performing gainful activity abroad missing?

The period of gainful activity abroad is not recorded by CSSA, as it is recorded by the relevant foreign insurance provider. If it is a period of gainful activity in a contractual foreign country, the foreign insurance provider issues a confirmation of it based on a request from CSSA in relation to the pension insurance benefit proceedings.

Is the period of military or civilian service missing?

  • You may receive confirmation of military service from the relevant regional military headquarters. Contact information may be found at acr.army.cz in the Structure - Regional Military Headquarters section, where a form for requesting the issuing of a confirmation of the period of basic military service is also available.
  • You can receive confirmation of civil service from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the application form is available at www.mpsv.cz in the Forms - Civil Service section.

Confirmation of the period of basic military service or confirmation of the period of civil service can be submitted to DSSA at your place of permanent residence or any other DSSA. Certified copies will be made of these documents and handed over to CSSA to be added to the records of your claim documents.

Is the period of study missing?

The period of study may be documented with the following documents about the period of study (or apprenticeship), even if it has not been completed:

  • vocational certificates,
  • high school leaving certificates or report cards from individual years,
  • study reports (indexes), certificates of state final examination, diplomas,
  • confirmation of the period of study.

Documents about your studies may be submitted to DSSA in your place of residence or any other DSSA. Certified copies will be made of these documents and handed over to CSSA to be added to the records of your claim documents.

Is the period of care for a child up to 4 years of age missing?

The period of care for a child up to 4 years of age is only documented when applying for a pension insurance benefit, i.e., by

  • a statutory declaration and
  • proof of relationship with the child (it is required only if DSSA itself cannot verify this fact by looking at the relevant information system of the population register).

Is the period of care missing for a person dependent on the care of another person?

The period of care for a person dependent on the care of another person in degrees of dependence from II to IV, or in degree I, in the case of a child under 10 years of age, is documented by

  • a decision of the locally competent DSSA, on the basis of a request submitted to the DSSA after the end of care or during it in relation to the submission of a request for the award of a pension.
